Questions We Get Asked A Lot

It’s important to us that you have the knowledge and understanding you need to make an informed decision about your purchases. If you can’t find the answer to your question here please feel free get in touch with us. We’d be glad to assist in any way we can.

How does Bridal sizing work?

Bridal sizing will vary from your normal dress size in respect that it comes up small. The reason for this is that the Bridal gown industry still works on European sizes from years ago when us ladies would have measured differently. The general rule is you should expect to purchase a gown around 2 sizes bigger than your normal dress size and then this gown can be perfectly tailored to your own unique beautiful shape.

What is a sample bridal gown?

A sample gown is created by a designer to send out to stockists of their brand. This then enables a gown to be tried on for style, colour and design and is usually provided in 1 or 2 sizes. The samples gowns that Sarah Jayne Bridal have available are in top quality condition and most have never been tried on. Each gown that we have for sale will state the exact condition that it is in and the size available as we believe that our brides should be able to know exactly what they are purchasing  with complete confidence.

Does Sarah Jayne Bridal offer an alteration service?

Unfortunately this is not a service that we provide and any alterations required would need to be arranged by the purchaser after the dress has been paid for and received. In each dresses description we list the gowns  bridal size and approximate bust & waist measurements in inches and it is normal when purchasing a wedding dress that you would have the dress altered to give you that perfect fit.

How many shades does Ivory come in?

In all honesty hundreds! Many Bridal gowns are available in a variety of colours these days but it is still extremely popular to get married in White or Ivory. The majority of our gowns are Ivory but please be aware that between different designers & styles the shade of Ivory may differ.
